Affordable Car Insurance Free Online Quotes

Looking for free online quotes it’s an art in itself and only the experienced ones can find the best deals easily. When you are checking out affordable car insurance free online quotes, you should first of all look for a reliable car insurance company, the amount of liability or comprehensive insurance that best addresses your needs and of course the cheapest type of insurance that can be provided by that reliable insurer and also meets your requirements.

There are many websites that allow you to obtain free online quotes from most of the top insurers nationwide that are interested in offering you the most affordable car insurance. You are on your way of getting multiple car insurance quotes just by entering a five digit zip code and being willing to look into the results returned. That means you will have to compare those quotes in order to select the most affordable car insurance free online quote. There are a few tips that will help you take your decision.

First of all you should consider checking the insurance company that provided you with a rate quote that got you interested. You can check with the state to see if there have been major complaints filled against this particular company and also browse some forums that will help you get an idea of the level of service quality. If you are more inclined to contact the state department, you can do that by phone or online.

Your questions should be related to the reputation and history of the company. You should be interested in the time the company has provided its services on the market and the level of customer care is able to provide for its customers. The type of coverage is also of the essence because if the company isn’t offering you something better for your money, then there’s no point in changing insurers. You can also contact the Better Business Bureau to see what complaints have been filled against a particular company.

The insurance claims should also be on your mind, because that’s another item that will help you compare the affordable car insurance free online quotes. So, ask an agent, of the company you are inclined to choose, how long it takes to process a claim, because if you are involved in a car accident you will find that problem rather crucial to be solved fast.

You can also rely on friends and family when trying to buy car insurance. People you trust can guide you in the right direction and their recommendations might determine you to check some of the quotes more carefully than others. You can ask around about the claim process, the type of coverage offered at the best price by a car insurance company and other details you find important.  A mechanic from a trusted auto repair shop is another possible source of information because he has clients that are covered by different insurers and have different stories about their claims.

In the end, it’s all up to you, because you are the only one that knows what you need, the type of car you drive, your expectations and the budget at your disposal. You should just compare the free online quotes according to your criteria, do that minimum research on the company and just follow your instinct. You will have an accurate impression after you talk with one of their agents because an agent is a reflection of the company. What can be simpler than that? Remember that affordable car insurance free online quotes are one click away on websites like carinsurancequote.net.

Ford’s Racing Stripes – 2012 SEMA Show

Ford’s Racing Stripes

Ford has earned their racing stripes, and now they’re making a brand out of them.

Ford’s racing operation spans 110 years, several continents and almost a dozen racing formats, from WRC to NHRA Top Fuel, Formula Ford and more. Using the 2012 SEMA Show as a springboard, Ford has launched a branding campaign that ties all of those operations together, at least graphically.

Applied globally, Ford intends to unify their racing programs by means of broad blue and black racing stripes. When attached to one of Ford’s racing prototypes or concepts, like the Mustang Cobra Jet Concept shown at SEMA, Ford’s new design language dictates that the car be painted white, with blue and black bars. In the case of a development car the base color would be matte black under the stripes.

Fans can expect to see this family strategy applied to every Ford-backed vehicle from contingency racers to full factory supported efforts starting with the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Ford Fusion entered in the 2013 Daytona 500.

Subaru Special Editions Debut – 2012 SEMA Show

Tiger’s Eye? Alloy Orange? Burnt Sienna? A quick trip through the Crayola box doesn’t give away the color of the 2013 Subaru WRX Special Edition, and the Subaru WRX STI Special Edition that debuted at the 2012 SEMA Show. Subaru calls the color Tangerine Orange, and 300 lucky drivers (200 for the WRX and another 100 for the WRX STI) will get to romp these all-wheel-drive pumpkins around their local back roads.

Subaru Special Editions Debut – 2012 SEMA Show

Alas, no performance mods grace this Titian back road brawler. The standard 265-bhp boxer-four of the WRX and the 305-bhp of the STI continue to provide plenty of motive power while the bright colors and graphics package set these SEMA specials apart. A six-speed manual transmission puts that power to the tarmac. Adventurous autumn aficionados will appreciate the orange color matched seat, floor mat and shifter boot trim stitching, and black headliner. Also included on these special editions are black fender badging and black wheels that mirror the black decals running just along the bottom of the doors.

The 2013 Special Edition Subaru WRX’s will be available in the spring of 2013.

2012 SEMA Show Opens in Las Vegas

Although the mammoth trade show opens its doors today we managed to get a sneak peek inside ahead of time yesterday. Many booths were not yet completed and several significant cars were still under wraps.

2012 SEMA Show Opens in Las Vegas

It was great to see the Scion stand showing nothing but modified FR-S sports cars. We also saw several on other booths. Each year visitors come away saying such and such a car was the star of the show. In the past it’s been cars such as the Mustang, Camaro or even the Mini. Based on our first look, the star car this year is undoubtedly the Scion FR-S.

An additional event taking place this year is the final round of the Global Rallycross Championship. It’s being held, after the SEMA Show closes for the day, in the parking lot across from the Las Vegas Convention Center. Qualifying rounds took place on Monday against an unusual backdrop of hotels and a monorail. The track is wide and has more dirt than previous courses, which should lead to some great heats and a final on Tuesday evening. It will be broadcast live on ESPN2 and ESPN3 from 5 pm to 6:30 pm PT/8 pm to 9:30 pm ET.

Americans Winning Abroad – Racing

Americans Winning Abroad

The inaugural United States Grand Prix on the Circuit Of The Americas near Austin is just a few weeks away and as we know there will be no U.S. drivers competing.

Never give up hope for the future.

In England, Trisin Nunez from Boca Raton, FL and Clarendon Hills, IL’s Jack Mitchell Jr scored wins racing on the Brands Hatch Indy Car circuit during the Kent Formula Ford Festival. Both 16-year-old drivers are Team USA Scholarship winners.

On India’s Buddh International Circuit, racing in the MRF Challenge series support race for the Grand Prix, Indiana-based Conor Daly shook off jet lag to win the initial race. Daly finished 3rd in the second MRF event.

Immediately after next weekend’s Abu Dhabi Formula 1 race, several teams will have their Young Driver Test. The Caterham F1 team has announced that 21-year-old American Alexander Rossi will have a day with their GP car.

During the Friday practice session in Austin, the Californian will get a chance to show his fellow Americans what he can do with an F1 car. Rossi – the only driver from the U.S. to currently hold a FIA F1 Super License – has said, “There is a lot of pride in driving out the pit lane and onto the track as an American as F1 returns to America.”

Never give up hope for the future…

How A Car Lease Works

If you do not know how a car lease works, it basically means that when you lease a vehicle, you will be paying to use the car for a certain pre-established period of time. When you lease a vehicle from a dealership, the latter essentially sells the automobile to a leasing agency. The car dealership is rewarded with a commission for offering a new customer to the leasing company.

The moment you get the leased car, you will start making payments every month. These payments are calculated by estimating the amount of depreciation the car will suffer during the period that you will have it. For example, if you lease a $20,000 car and the leasing company estimates that the vehicle will be worth $11,000 after the lease is over, your monthly payments will be directed at paying that $9,000 difference, simple as that.

If you were to buy the car upfront for $20,000, the very moment you drive it off the car lot it is worth about 10-15% less. The rate of a car’s depreciation is the same, regardless if you buy or lease. For this reason, if you don’t really care about owning the car, leasing is probably the most affordable way to drive a car. You can also assume a car lease, which is probably the cheapest way to drive a relatively new car.

When figuring out the monthly payments, you also have to take into consideration the finance charge, which is in fact a varying percentage that is based mostly on your credit score. There are also other smaller charges that we should mention, like tax and licensing fees. There is a possibility that you will be obliged to pay more money if you go over the allotted amount of miles (usually 10,000, 12,000 or 15,000 miles / year), like 15 cents for each extra mile. You can negotiate the yearly mileage when you sign the deal, but it will cost you extra. If the car that you want to buy is advertised at 10,000 miles annually, but you want to drive if for 15,000 miles / year, the company will raise the interest rate on your lease – this is called “money factor”.

car leasing tips How A Car Lease Works

In understanding how a car lease works, you also have to take into consideration the fact that you will be responsible for maintaining the leased vehicle and performing regular oil changes. After the lease is over, you will return the car and the dealer will inspect it. If they find anything wrong with it, outside of the regular wear and tear, you will be assessed a penalty. Each scratch and/or dent will be measured, and the penalty that you will have to pay will depend upon the size of the dent and/or scratch. In addition, if the car’s tires are worn out, they will charge you a fee for each worn tire.

When the agreement is over, you will have the possibility to buy the car. The purchase price is in most cases the subsequent value of the car after the depreciation. You also have the alternative of leasing the car again, which will again entail estimating the depreciated value at the end of the leasing term.

Temporary Car Insurance

Temporary Motor Vehicle Cover Temporary Car Insurance

If you plan on using a car for a period of up to six months, you will definitely be interested in getting temporary car insurance. These short-term policies will cover you while you have temporary use of a car. The period of the coverage can range from one day to six months, depending upon how long you will be using it. You need to know that for such policies, the premium is collected monthly or in advance and the coverage can begin on the date agree upon or immediately.

This type of policy can include liability insurance like property damage and bodily injury as well as physical damage, uninsured / underinsured motorist and also medical payments for the passengers. In most of the situations, the insurance companies will charge a flat rate for this type of policy. In comparison to a long-term insurance, this type may be a little bit more affordable. Some companies will offer extras like roadside service which might come in hand for some people. You can cancel this type of insurance by writing a request to cancel the policy, it works in most situations.

Applying for a short-term car insurance can be done both online and offline. On the Internet there are a bundle of quote engines that can compute your likely cost at several different insurance companies based on a questionnaire that you will have to fill out.

Temporary car insurance is the best solution if you plan on taking a long trip with a rented vehicle, or when you want to protect your stored automobile from physical damage. In addition, guests from other towns might need a car for transportation and they should get such type of insurance. Another example would be when parents have children in college that want to use the car during breaks from school. The applicability of short-term car insurance is quite large.

Another important advantage of this type of policy is that it will not affect your regular long-term policy and any number of drivers will be able to drive the car. On a normal car policy, it can be a rather difficult task to add another driver. Although it has a time limit, the amount of coverage offered is satisfying for most of us and exactly what we need for a brief period.

You should know that most of the companies will let you add a temporary vehicle onto you regular car insurance policy and then cancel it after you have returned from your trip. We recommend that you choose the same company as you did for the long-term vehicle insurance as you already have a relationship with it and they might give you a discount.

Best Car To Buy For Less Than $5000

If money is tight at the moment and you are searching for the best car to buy for less than $5000, look no further as this article will offer you a couple of ideas. However, keep in mind that for a $5k car you won’t get the quality of a $10k automobile. Plus, most of these cars will come with more than 100,000 miles on the odometer. Despite these disadvantages, if you do some careful shopping and have plenty of patience, you can get a very good car in this price range.

Let’s start with the Acura Integra GS-R, the cars manufactured between 1994 and 2001. Featuring an engine that has a redline at 8,000 rpm and a gearbox that works in perfect tandem with the power unit, it is one of the best front-wheel drive cars as far as handling is concerned. In addition, it offers plenty of room for four people thanks to the spacious hatchback cabin. Due to the fact that the GS-Rs have remained relatively the same over their 8-year long run in the United States, it is best to get the one that has the lowest mileage.

Another great example would be the Chevrolet Camaro / Pontiac Firebird, the ones made between 1985 and 1994. There are two V8 engines available for these cars, a 5.0-liter and a 5.7-liter. The latter was exclusively fitted with an automatic gearbox. It would be best to find a model made starting with 1993 and further as these fourth-generation vehicles come with a stiffer chassis and a more powerful engine fitted with a 6-speed manual gearbox. For the ’93 and ’94 models, both cars featured a 275 hp engine.

The Chevrolet Corvette is a best buy in this price tag, at least the ones made between 1984 and 1996. For this money you get massive rims, big tires, big brakes, an independent suspension and a 245 hp engine if you choose the model wisely. Avoid getting a pre ’84 model as these were fitted with a 4-speed electronic overdrive transmission in comparison to the newer ones that had a ZF 6-speed manual gearbox. The cars made starting with 1988 had a L98 engine that produced 245 hp and the car also was fitted with huge 275/40ZR17 rubber.

usedcars 1 Best Car To Buy For Less Than $5000

A reliable V8-powered car would have to be the Ford Mustang, the models manufactured between 1986 and 2004. The ones made starting ’86 had a 5.0-liter V8 engine and the car got some upgrades in 1994. You can find Mustangs made between 2000 and 2003 under the $5k price tag. A good model would be the ’87-’93 LX that had a 225 hp 5.0-liter, like the one on the GT.

The Honda Prelude was considered to be an overpriced, unpopular and unrated model or at least that is how the press described it. However, its underrated part wins the Prelude a spot in this lit. The right model to buy would be the one in the SH trim level that has the proprietary Active Torque Transfer System which can bias drive torque to the outside wheel in a turn.

The Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T/GSX and the Eagle Talon TSi/Tsi AWD are other great examples in this budget; especially the models produced starting with 1990 until ’98. Both of them had a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine as well as optional AWD for the 2-door hatchback version. There were two generations of these cars; the first models had a 195 hp engine while the newest ones featured a more powerful 210 hp unit.

The best car to buy for less than $5000 could very well be the popular and cute Mazda MX-5 Miata, the ones made between 1990 and 2000. It is one of the most best-handling and communicative cars in the world, but from this list it is the slowest. Your best bet would be the second generation models that had a 140 hp engine, although the first one was not very bad with its 1.8-liter engine linked to a 5-speed gearbox and a Torsen limited-slip diferential. Regardless of model or generation, avoid getting one with an automatic transmission as it will kill all the fun.

For those of you looking for a great chassis, the 1989-1998 Nissan 240SX is the right car to purchase. With a light weight body, sophisticated rear suspension, rear-drive and great steering, the 240SX was modeled on the Porsche 944, but unfortunately it had an engine that produced only 240 hp. Most of these cars were modified for drifting and come with a customized 2.0-liter SR20DET turbo engine so it would be wise to get one with this engine.

A popular car in the late 90s was the Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS (1998-2001), offering 165 hp under the hood. Until 2000, the Impreza was available only as a coupe model and in that year they introduced the sedan version which looks better.  It would be advisable to get one made starting with 1999 as these models were equipped with a SOHC power unit which was significantly smoother and offered more torque.

Offering a low weight construction combined with ample power for the turbo models, the 1991-1995 Toyota MR2 is the last car from this list, worthy of its less than $5000 price tag. The base MR2 models used a Camry power unit which means that they were quite slow. However, if speed is not important to you, these engines are some of the most durable and reliable in the entire list. Avoid getting a car with a T-top and try to find one that has a fixed-roof as it offers more chassis rigidity, plus the T-top cars has very expensive panels that will certainly ruin your budget.
